Lara is an Adelaide-raised actress, writer and business woman. She grew up studying dance and drama, had a brief foray as an engineering student, hated it, then finally finished a degree in film and philosophy at The University of Sydney. As an actor Lara studied at Screenwise, Sydney; RADA, London; as well as with the formidable late coach Lynette Sheldon.

After an 8 year hiatus Lara has rejoined the Faulty Towers cast in a bid to hone her one-liners, as well as false eyelash application in the role of Sybil Faulty. Other theatre credits include Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Mary Rose, Vernon God Little and Long Gone Lonesome Cowgirls.

On screen Lara has appeared in award-winning Network Ten series 600 Bottles of Wine. Further work includes The Chin Is In for SBS 2, Lightswitch with Jay La'Gaia and Clit Bait aka The Sexist Cops web series which she also wrote and directed. Lara co-owns and operates Papa Gede’s cocktail bar in Sydney CBD with her husband, although they (mostly) get along much better than Basil & Sybil.
