Faulty Towers The Dining Experience®

Happy birthday Charing Cross!
150 years old on 15 May 2015

WHEN the Charing Cross Railway Company drew up plans for a new terminus on The Strand, it was obvious that they should include a grand hotel to rival those at Euston, Paddington and Kings Cross.

Originally designed in sumptuous Franco-Italiante style by EM Barry, this amazing Grade II listed building has been transformed for the modern age. Yet it retains that sense of refinement and luxury which made it one of the most prestigious places to stay in Victorian London.

When Charing Cross Hotel opened 150 years ago, it boasted the very latest technologies, including lifts, ventilation, heating, fire-proofing, speaking tubes and wired bells… Today, as part of the Amba Hotels portfolio, the re-named Amba Hotel Charing Cross again offers guests the very latest in luxuries and amenities, including high-speed Wi-Fi and smart TVs.

And, of course, Faulty Towers The Dining Experience, at five shows a week!

There are special events the whole of the week starting 11 May, and during the weekend of 15-17 May, the hotel is celebrating with a menu featuring 1865-style food, a Victorian-styled photo booth to record events, discounts, giveaways and competition prizes. Watch out for some action featuring Basil, Sybil and Manuel too!
