Our current shows

ITI has devised and produced many shows over the years. Its 2016-17 productions are Faulty Towers The Dining Experience and The Wedding Reception – one very obviously a tribute, the other new writing. Both are immersive and highly improvised, and suited to a variety of venues.

Faulty Towers The Dining Experience

Highlights of the 2016-2017 season include return runs in Sydney Opera House, 5th anniversary fun at its London West End residency, 10th anniversary celebrations at Edinburgh Fringe, and surprises galore around the world to mark the show’s 20th birthday on 24 April 2017.

Show low-down…

When the audience become diners in the ‘Faulty Towers’ restaurant and are served by Basil, Sybil and Manuel, pretty much anything can happen – especially so because only a third of the show is scripted; the rest is improvised around and with the audience. The fun starts as guests wait to be seated, then hurtles along in a tour de force of shambolic service: ‘Laugh till you cry through two riotous hours of food, wine and impeccable comic timing’(The Great Aussie Bite, Sydney Opera House).

Devised and produced by ITI, Faulty Towers The Dining Experience was born in 1997 and has since been seen by over half a million people. It is a fully immersive, highly improvised and site-specific piece of comedy theatre that continues to be acclaimed around the world by audiences and critics alike. The show now has nine teams of cast touring the world virtually non-stop. The show uses its own original script: the TV scripts written by John Cleese and Connie Booth are not used in this production.

‘An experience not to be missed’ City Nomads, Raffles Singapore
‘Completely crazy and very, very funny!’ Mikael Qvist Rørsted, Director, Værket Theatre, Denmark

‘If laughter is indeed the best medicine then the show should be sponsored by Medicare.’ InDaily, Adelaide

The Wedding Reception

The Wedding Reception is a 2-hour piece of immersive, interactive and highly improvised comedy theatre that features four award-winning performers in multiple roles and a sit-down meal – with cake! It had its world première at Brighton Fringe 2015, then moved on to Edinburgh Fringe and London Covent Garden, winning 5* reviews across the board. It returns to London, Edinburgh and Brighton in 2016, and also picks up dates on tour around the UK, Australia and in Raffles Singapore.

The Show
Think of any party filled with strangers where tensions, fun and love ensue… that’s us!

The basic premise of The Wedding Reception is that the audience are guests at, yes, a wedding reception.

The actors perform around and with the audience, making it a fully immersive experience – and as interactive as individual people want it to be. From arrival, through to seating, eating and dancing, the show is a classic take on an English wedding reception.

The comedy, drama, tensions and fun – and love!

‘Riotous immersive comedy… No shortage of laughs on the menu.’
4* The Stage, Edinburgh Fringe 2016

‘Hilariously funny and completely endearing. The four-strong cast multi-role to the max, providing colour and moments of pure joy between and during a lovely three-course dinner.’
4* The Reviews Hub, Edinburgh Fringe 2016

‘Highly spontaneous with clever improvisations, a witty script and perfect comedy timing.’
5* British Theatre Guide, Edinburgh Fringe 2016

Bride and groom, Will and Kate, are expecting a small family gathering to celebrate their wedding, which took place just that morning. But little do they know that Kate’s parents have planned something altogether different… Cue uninvited guests, misbehaving family and secrets better left in the closet. This unbeatable theatrical dining experience invites audiences to become guests at an unforgettable wedding reception.

The Wedding Reception transports audiences to the kind of party most of us have been to, where worry over meeting strangers becomes fully-fledged fun. There’s even a 2-course sit-down meal, with cake for afters! So join the party. It’s a 2-hour comedy that’s immersive, highly improvised, and as interactive as the audience wants it to be, a rollercoaster ride full of fun, frolics… and more than a few surprises!
