When the audience become diners in the ‘Faulty Towers’ restaurant and are served by Basil, Sybil and Manuel, pretty much anything can happen – especially so because only a third of the show is scripted; the rest is improvised around and with the audience. The fun starts as guests wait to be seated, then hurtles along in a tour de force of shambolic service: ‘Laugh till you cry through two riotous hours of food, wine and impeccable comic timing’(The Great Aussie Bite, Sydney Opera House).
Devised and produced by ITI, Faulty Towers The Dining Experience was born in 1997 and has since been seen by over half a million people. It is a fully immersive, highly improvised and site-specific piece of comedy theatre that continues to be acclaimed around the world by audiences and critics alike. The show now has nine teams of cast touring the world virtually non-stop. The show uses its own original script: the TV scripts written by John Cleese and Connie Booth are not used in this production.

This show is performed in a pub setting for a maximum of 120 diners. Tables seating 4-6 people set in pub style are ideal. Other table arrangements are fine, but traditional tables should be round with a maximum of 10 people. Ideally, the space will be a theatre stage, black box, pop-up pub or traditional pub – it just needs clear sight lines, a kitchen and a PA system.
This all-new one-hour special can be tailored to any individual event by the client, whether corporate or private. Featuring Basil, Sybil and Manuel, what could possibly go wrong??
Inspired by Faulty Towers The Dining Experience, this interactive one-hour show is an awards ceremony with a difference. Featuring Basil as master of ceremonies, with Manuel his glamorous assistant and Sybil their diligent manager, the show is full of mishaps and miscommunications as individual guests become part of the production, while other guests enjoy star performances by their friends under Basil Faulty’s ‘guidance’.
Tailor-made to and for private events, it’s as good for parties and celebrations as it is for corporate events.
This show can be adapted for small or large audiences and performed in a huge variety of spaces – all we need is a PA and microphone access. It can be presented as one full hour or three 20-minute set pieces over a period of two hours.
Catering is at the discretion of the client.
This show is organised on a one-to-one basis, so please contact our office to discuss requirements.
