Basil walked everywhere with the Gnome, and Sybil ensured that tickets were sold at all 40 performances of the show during the festival. Tickets were sold for £1 each, and the team managed to raise £1000.

The gnome was won by Mrs Joan Nicol of Dumferline, and was presented to her at her home by the cast.

****

All proceeds were delivered by hand to the BBC Manchester.
